my worthless day has been fixed

Lex's Christmas is done - he's not getting a kitchen and we are all good with that.

I got the tote from Michael's I wanted, in pink instead of turquoise. Way cute - pics to come soon

Carl's Christmas is also done. I hope he likes it! More on that later...

The pants are clean! Well they were clean - he has now wore them for the 2nd time.

Coming tomorrow (or next time I post)

more family pics! I printed A TON today - they are so fun!

What the Hell?

Today was one of those days when I wonder why I put on makeup and take time to do my hair to go out of the house.

1st stop - Fred Meyer. I love Fred Meyer - the main reason is the play place - Lex loves it and I can shop all by my self.

They had a play kitchen for $40 in the ad yesterday. (Yes I was going to buy my almost 4 year old son a kitchen.) He plays with the kitchen at my moms, it keeps him busy for hours. The only problem is its outside (they live in Rigby don't ask) and since it is so stinkin' cold he hasn't played with it for awhile.

Anyway they were out of the cheap kitchens.

I have now done some research on the world wide web and decided I am glad they were out. I just don't think it could hold up to the abuse Lex would in flick.

2nd stop - lunch at Micky D's. I asked for a chicken nugget happy meal with apples and a sprite. They forgot the apples. Lex was sad but I do think he will live.

3rd stop - Michael's for one of these and some ribbon. They were out of the totes and I couldn't find any ribbon that wasn't pretty. I was going for cute.

4th stop - Chesbro music to get Carl a music book of Van Halen for his drums. They didn't have Van Halen. He is getting a different one. SHHHHHHH - don't tell.

5th stop - The dry cleaner on 1st street by the hair place. I don't know what it is called but it doesn't matter because they are closing on December 7th and are currently not taking any clothes.

6th stop - Dry cleaner on 1st street by Godfathers.
Carl got a suit last year for Christmas. He has worn it a total of 1 time (see picture above). There are 2 huge spots on the behind of the pants. The dry cleaner doesn't think they can get the spots out.

I was out all morning and did not get a damn thing accomplished. I should have stayed at home and finished the laundry. Which is almost done now! Oh happy day!

Happy Turkey Day!!!

I totally ripped this off of another blog - I thought it was really good....

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep - you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace - you are among the top 8% of the worlds wealthy.

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness - you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation - you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death, you are more blessed than three billion people in the world.

If your parents are still alive and still married - you are very rare, even in the United States.

If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful - you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.

If you can hold some one's hand, hug them or even touch them on the shoulder - you are blessed because you can offer healing touch.

If you can read this message, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.

Things I am Thankful for...

My wonderful husband & son - they keep me laughing.

All our great family and friends - they all do so much for us - We Love You All!

My house, car, cell phone & Ipod - I don't know what I would do with out these. I am really thankful to live in this day and age. I would never have survived as a pioneer.

What are you thankful for?

Cute Boy!

Hey every other day for posting is pretty good!

So every night to put Lex to bed our routine usually goes something like this...

Carl gets his PJ's on, I help him brush his chops and get him in bed and Carl reads him a story. A couple of nights ago we added another step. Heres how it went...
Me: Lex how many blankets do you want on?
Lex: What will I be if I have 1 on?
Me: Freezin' Cold
Lex: What will I be if I have 2 blankets on?
Me: A little bit cold
Lex: What will I be if I have 4 blankets on?
Me: Roasting Hot!
Lex: No I will be Roast Beef! How about I have 3 blankets on.

I love the stuff he comes up with! He is one funny kid! He rarely says "I Love You". He has told me on very few occations. So last night I say "goodnight Lex, I love you". I was waiting for his usual response "ok". Instead he pushed the hair away from my eye and said "I need to see both your eyes - I love you". It was so sweet! Totally made up for all the "ok's" he's given me in the past.

Now I am off to make signs! I will leave you with a layout I did awhile ago - I heart Elsie stuff!

Happy Saturday!

As promised...

So here is the story about Jessica and I in the bathroom.

Background
The ETM crops are held at the Idaho Falls activity center. In the center there is a Girls bathrooms and a Boys bathroom. Sometimes they are switched because the boys bathroom has more stalls than the girls. There aren't many men at the scrapbooking event. By many I mean 0. When you walk in the Boys bathroom there is 1 stall 1 urinal & 1 sink, but there is second door. Behind that door contains more stalls and more sinks.

Story
Jessica and I decide we need to use the restroom during our fun day of scrapbooking. We atomically go to the Boy's (since its usually the girls). They haven't been switched this particular day. We (I think I) decided we should use it anyway. We use the stalls behind the second door (refer to above). After we are done washing our hands we go to open the door - but wait! We hear someone coming in. Thinking its probably another woman we listen to make sure....

What we heard was Not a woman! We listen to the man pee and then wait for him to wash his hands. What? No washing! Gross!

So that day we were very grateful for the second door and our great timing. Although it could have been better - it could have been worse. I have very thankful I only had to listen and not see!

Here are some of the cute projects we did that day....

This is the cover of the mini book that the incredible Amanda taught.

These are the fall pages. There are also winter, spring & summer. Stinkin cute!

We did some way cute Christmas cards and a really cute Halloween layout. I will post pictures of them as soon as I can find them.

This is the layout that I worked on ALL FREAKIN DAY!

Sorry for the crappy pictures I was in too much of a hurry.
Happy Thursday!

Does anyone still read this thing?

Life has been crazy busy the last couple of weeks. I am now one of those annoying bloggers that never post. Sorry!

Here is what we've been doing.....

Friday Oct. 19th Took Lex to the doctor because he had croup. Doc put him on steroids and an antibiotic - he was good to go. I also packed for Kim's Crop

Saturday Oct. 20th Started the day going to the big Roberts sale - didn't want to wait in line so Jessica and I went to subway for breakfast where I was pleasantly surprised. I recommend the Subway on Channing. Carl and I went to the one on Woodruff and it wasn't the same. We went back to Roberts and did some shopping. Then we went to Kim's crop, made really cute stuff and got stuck in the bathroom listening to a man pee with Jessica (more on that later).

Sunday Oct. 21st Lex missed his primary program because he was sick.

Monday Oct. 22nd Our church has a fire in it and so for the next 2 weeks we couldn't use it.

Tuesday Oct. 23rd Mutual canceled because of church fire. It was nice to stay home on a Tuesday, I haven't done that in a while. Lex was upset because Tuesdays are him and daddy's night to play - no girls allowed.

Wednesday Oct. 24th Went to the temple with Young Women presidency. It was really great bonding time. Also ate yummy, cheap temple food.

Saturday Oct. 27th Super Saturday for our ward. They really had soup on Saturday. I made a lot of vinyl signs the past week and I was very glad it was done. They made some really cute projects. We also went to the pumpkin walk in Shelley with Carl's family. The Alan and Eva Tyger family came from Utah for a fun visit.

Sunday Oct. 28th Went to my parents for dinner. Went to Carl's parents and carved pumpkins. Carl's dad grew white pumpkins and we grew the regular orange variety. There was plenty for everyone. I forgot my camera so I will have to get pictures later from grandma Rosie.

Monday Oct. 29th We went to Boo at the Zoo with the Tygers and the rest of Idaho Falls. Don't think we will be attending that next year. Livee was a darling little red riding hood, Hudson was the cutest bee and Lex was spiderman. We only saw about 20 other spidermen there. We went to Pizza Hut afterward for dinner. Yummy! Then we came here and ate some yummy Orange pie. I will post that recipe cuz its good. Lex got to play Pokemon with Dallin. We all just got to hang out. It was really fun.

Tuesday Oct. 30th Mutual at our house for a baby shower. One of the other leaders is having a baby boy any day. We played fun games and learned how to make a diaper cake. We also ate yummy popcorn balls. Need to post that recipe also.

Wednesday Oct. 31st Halloween! Lex went trick or treating to Granma Tolley's, Grandma Rosie's and Tomm & Jessica's. We kept it short because we had to be at the hospital at 5:30 AM.

Thursday Nov. 1st Lex got his teeth worked on. They pulled 2, capped 1, and filled a few cavities. He did really good. It went by really fast - I am glad Carl was there. We played Nintendo's against each other while we were waiting. Lex has to go back in 2 weeks and get a spacer. He was pretty mad when he realized they took out his teeth. Learning about the tooth fairy made it somewhat ok. My cousin Tel and his wife Emily were at the same hospital having their 1st baby the same day! She wasn't born while we were there but I hear she is a doll. Her name is Kanani Jewel! Love it!

Saturday Nov. 3rd stayed home all day! Carl cleaned out the vehicles I love him for that. I cleaned of my desk's. They are still a mess. It was a really good relaxing day. I didn't even put on makeup - love days like that.

Did you make it through that? Holly Molly! Now that I am caught up I promise to post fun things - like pictures!

Shows we watch!

We watch

Pushing Daisies - Fun show and I love Ned and Chuck

Greys - Cant wait for tonight! What is going to happen with George and Callie?

Private Practice - Wasn't sure at first but I like it now!

Desperate Housewives - At first I was really appalled that my mother would watch such a show but now I Love it!

With out a trace - Good drama but not bloody and gutty like CSI

Simpsons - Carl and Lex's Favorite

I am getting really excited for the ETM crop on Saturday! It will be a fun girl day with Jessica, Jamie, Amanda. The girl that does me and Jamie's hair is also coming with her mama and sister. I am going to try and get organized so I can get lots done!

Oh - also I think Lex can spell - This morning Carl and I were talking about taking Lex to the D-O-C-T-O-R for his cough. Lex said no I don't need to go to the doctor today. Maybe he's a really smart kid or maybe his parents just think so.

Have a Happy Thursday!

A pretty shitty post

I have just been such a blogging slacker! I apologize!

So today I went and picked up Lex from preschool. We drive down the road and something stinks so bad. I thought it smelled like puke or poop or something nasty. I check Lexs shoes, Miss Janet does have a cat and sometimes they get to play in the backyard. Maybe the cat left something in the grass and Lex stepped on it.

Clean shoes.

So I look in his backpack totally expecting to see somebodies hurled breakfast.

Nothing there.

So I tell myself I am being overly sensitive to some little smell. (I always think my car smells like burning peanut butter and Carl tells me I am crazy, maybe I am since the last 3 cars I have owned have smelled like that at 1 time or another.)

Lex and I go to Walmart and pick up some cute pictures from Jessica.(a entire summers worth. Note to self - get pictures printed more often) A couple of times while I am talking to her I smell the gross smell. Then I think well maybe Lex crapped himself. It's never happened before. So after chatting with her we leave and I check Lex's shorts. Notta. Thank goodness!

So finally we are getting in the car and I look at my shoes. Yellowish greenish some kind of animal crap all over one side and on the bottom! Let me just tell you it was GROSS! With a capital GGGGRRRRRR!

So to everyone in Walmart who thinks I smell like shit - I am really sorry! I did smell like shit. Have a happy day and think of a nice good clean smell!

A Week in Review

Saturday
Jamie and I went and got our hair did. (Tennessee talk) This is the only picture we remembered to take so you will have to use your imagination on the outcome.....
Sunday
Ate dinner at Grandma Tolley's and played with Maddie. She is so cute! She sucks her fingers just the way I used to (ring and middle finger)! Mason calls her precious. He says things like "where's precious?" How precious is that? Watched Desperate Housewives. Cant wait to watch it again tonight!
Monday
Ate dinner with the Tyger clan, I made Turkey spaghetti with whole wheat pasta. YUM! We also got to see this lil punkin...

I think my camera spooked him

Tuesday
Lost my voice
Wednesday, Thursday & Friday
Drank a lot of this....

Saturday

Merry Christmas! Oh - wait its only October. All the snow really makes me want to get out the Christmas Decor and have a legitimate reason to listen to Sarah's Christmas CD that I have been listening to all summer. Lex and the dogs loved all the snow. Well Lex did anyway. Carl tried to save our pumpkins.

Carl and Lex also built a snowman. It was a dang cute snowman! He had corn for ears, beets for eyes, Carrot for his nose, and a big smiling cucumber for his mouth! I took pictures I promise, but somehow they have disappeared. So you will have to use your imagination.
We also watched Polar Express. HOT!HOT!HOT! HotChocolate! and sang that song several times.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Take your kid to work day...

Lex has had some issues at preschool. He has gets time outs almost everyday. So we have a deal, if he gets no time outs he gets to choose a prize. Wednesday he got NO time outs! So he was thinking about what he wanted his prize to be. He had come up with renting the Yankee movie (Everyones Hero) or this...

Lex: I know what my prize could be

Me: What

Lex: How about you take me to daddy's work and then just go away!

So I did just that. I was thinking I would go pick him up in an hour or so. Well he stayed all day. He got to go to lunch and everything. He loved working with Daddy, Uncle Paul, and Jason. Carl said he was really good. He just played in the dirt all day. Carl said it was fun to have him there. I love my cute boys!

Did I say 10?

Did ya notice in the last post it was titled "10 Random things" and I only did 8.

I smart!

I just dont know what else to say today, so I will leave you with this picture of Lex being the "normal daddy"

10 Random things

10 random things.
1 - Carl vacuumed out the couch. Yes the entire vacuum is on the couch. I guess I need to show him the attachments, or maybe this is how I should vacuum the couch! Whatever the case a smiling man with a vacuum - I just felt it should be documented.
2 - Lex and I went to lunch with Jamie last week. While in the parking lot at Jamie's work Lex started coughing. Then he puked in my hand. Then I tried to puke Jamie laughed. It was fun for the whole family.

3 - Spiderman came for a visit. It's never to early to break out the holloween custume. You should wear yours tomorrow!

4 - We watched the season finale of Greys. I almost cried again. Cant wait until Thursday to see Meredeth, Kali, George, and all my other friends!

5- New James Blunt CD! I love it! Thanks James!

6 - I think Maddie & McKale are the cutest sisters ever! What do you think?

7 - Lex asked us what Heaven was. I think Carl did a very good job of answering.

8 - Carl and Lex did alot of this over the weekend.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Toilet Talk

So yesterday Lex was going potty and I had a nice chat with him. This is how it went....

Lex: Grama Mana has handles on her potty.

Me: Oh!

Lex: They help you go poop!

Reality - Grandma Nana (also know as Grandma Great, Grandma Bodily, and Grandma banana) does have handles by her potty - but I think they are for a different use. What do you think?

Today we went to visit Dr. Smith, the dentist. He is our very nice friend. We will be paying him lots of money and he will make Lex's teeth happy. Lex was very good. I think Recky (Shrek) playing on the ceiling helped.
You may remember last year when Lex went to Dr. Tom. We paid him lots of money and he made Lex's teeth happy for a while, by putting silver caps on 2 of his teeth. Now those teeth get to be pulled out and replaced with a very expensive piece of metal to hold the space.
I need to be grateful that Lex is a very healthy boy except his teeth - I will work on that after we find $3,000 (again) to get them fixed.

What does love mean?

My mom sent this to me and I thought it was cute!

A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, "What does love mean?"

"When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love." Rebecca- age 8

"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth." Billy - age 4

"Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other." Karl - age 5

"Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs." Chrissy - age 6

"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired." Terri - age 4

"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen." Bobby - age 7
"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday." Noelle - age 7

"Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well." Tommy - age 6

"Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken." Elaine-age 5

"Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day." Mary Ann - age 4

"I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones." Lauren - age 4

"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross." Mark - age 6

"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget." Jessica - age 8

Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child. The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry"

I think love is when a grandpa and grandma go on rides with their grand kids - even when they don't fit...

The day tragedy struck

Yesterday was Lex's third day of preschool. He was so excited to go - we rushed out the door. In all the excitement we forgot his backpack. The backpack is the most important thing at preschool. As some of you know we had quite a time finding just the right backpack before preschool started. Luckily Miss Janet had a spare.

A nice grocery sack.

I never thought a grocery sack could be used in place of a Silver Surfer backpack. It worked great and fit very nicely around his shoulders (just like a backpack would)! Lex was really excited to show me his new backpack. Miss Janet saves the day!

I also did this yesterday...

I really like the 1 in 48 class so far!

Sunday, September 9, 2007

So how do I do this?

I decided to start a blog - Why you ask? Because Lex started preschool last week!
We are all excited .....
Lex is excited to go see Miss Janet and friends.
I am excited to have 2 hours with myself. (yes going to Winco with myself is one of my dreams!)
Carl is excited (not sure if he really is but will say he is).

Since Lex started preschool, I have a list of stuff I am going to do....

  1. Go to Winco by myself.
  2. THIS I am excited to get caught up on some scrap booking
  3. Ride the treadmill 2 miles a day. (yes I did say ride, I am starting of slow)
  4. Get lots of signs in the eBay store like 100 of them.
  5. Clean 1 room in my house everyday
  6. Do 1 load of laundry (including folding and putting away) everyday.
  7. Drink at least 64 oz of water everyday.
  8. Scrapbook
  9. Read books on how to be a good mommy
  10. Keep up my blog (my way of journaling)

We will see how it goes.

Lex loved his first week of preschool. Everyone told me how fast the 2 hours would go by, to my surprise I was waiting for 11:00 to come. The first day I took movies back, went to Carolyn's work and saw her display, went grocery shopping, went home and put the groceries away, and did the dishes. To my amazement I still had 15 minutes before I had to pick him up. Maybe I missed him just a little. I'm sure as I get used to it I will run out of time. Happy day!
